LABUHANBATU SELATAN – Regent of South Labuhanbatu (Labusel), Fery Sahputra Simatupang, SH, personally conducted a field inspection on Saturday (8/8/2026) to monitor the progress of a 400-meter concrete cementation road project in Teluk Panji II Village, Kampung Rakyat District.
The on-site visit was carried out to ensure that rural infrastructure development proceeds according to schedule and effectively directly answers the daily operational needs of the local community.
During the inspection, Regent Fery Sahputra did not merely review the physical state of the road, but also rigorously monitored the ongoing construction process on the ground. The newly built concrete road is expected to significantly improve village access and accelerate mobility for local residents.
Accompanied by the Head of Kampung Rakyat District, Ali Brahamsar, alongside the Acting Head of Teluk Panji II Village, Regent Fery Sahputra highlighted the local government’s core philosophy regarding equitable development.
He asserted that infrastructure growth in South Labuhanbatu Regency must not be concentrated solely within government offices or urban centers. Instead, the fundamental needs of rural village communities must remain at the forefront of regional development priorities.
“The regional government will continue to drive infrastructure projects that deliver a direct, tangible impact on enhancing connectivity and supporting community activities,” stated Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang.
He added that direct field supervision acts as a crucial control mechanism for the local administration to ensure all infrastructure projects meet required technical standards and planned specifications.
Kampung Rakyat District is widely recognized as one of the key agricultural and plantation zones in South Labuhanbatu. For years, rural roads in this area have faced heavy transportation loads, particularly from vehicles carrying palm oil harvests and local produce. Upgrading dirt or gravel pathways to rigid concrete cementation roads is a critical step in preventing seasonal road degradation during heavy rainfall.
By fortifying the road structure in Teluk Panji II, the regency administration directly tackles long-standing logistical bottlenecks. Smoother road surfaces substantially reduce vehicle maintenance costs for local farmers and cut transport times to market hubs, thereby bolstering the micro-economy of the village.
The inspection in Teluk Panji II reflects a broader infrastructure initiative currently spearheaded by the South Labuhanbatu Regency Government. Under the leadership of Fery Sahputra Simatupang, the administration is actively pursuing balanced development between urban centers and remote plantation villages across the regency.
In line with North Sumatra’s provincial vision for integrated infrastructure improvement, localized cementation projects serve as a cost-effective, durable solution for rural connectivity. The local government plans to maintain strict field oversight on similar ongoing public works across all districts in Labusel to ensure taxpayer funds yield maximum public utility.
